Did you know that there are homeschooling discounts for attractions in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the surrounding areas.
With so much to do in the area, the field trip possibilities are endless. But since it’s a tourist destination the retail prices can be exorbitant, which would prevent most homeschooling families on a tight budget from being able to enjoy many of the wonderful and educational opportunities in the area.
Lucky for you, a lot of the companies down here want to make it easy for us to take our field trips to their attractions.
I’ve found that several places in the Pigeon Forge area offer discounts to homeschoolers. Sometimes the discounts are evergreen and last throughout the year and others are times they are limited to specific times of the year, mostly when school is in session. Each attraction has their own guidelines on the matter, but it’s easy to find out for yourself if a specific place has special pricing for homeschooling families.
I’ll be posting the ones that we have visited down below. You can easily find out if the place you want to visit has special pricing by either searching their website or by giving them a quick call. I also LIKED all their Facebook pages so that I would get special deal announcements that way as well.

Our experience: My pre-teen loved the odditorium, there were lots of interesting facts and crazy displays to check out. The baby got a bit bored, there were some things that she could play with, but I probably wouldn’t return until she could read. We spent about 2 hrs looking at the exhibits.

Our experience: This museum was not real entertaining for a toddler, there wasn’t much in way of interactive exhibits. It’s best for kids who don’t mind reading, my preteen and I loved it. Our experience: This place was really fun. Everyone enjoyed it. We went with my brothers family when he came to visit us on their amazing family adventure. It was fun for all ages, even us adults. From babies to big kids there was plenty of fun to have. Plus, you can leave and return later in the day if you need a break. Definitely recommend this place for your family.
- Tomb Adventure
The details: Found this deal in my Facebook feed. They have teacher appreciation in the month of September from the 4th-30th, 2018 and again sometime in the spring. All homeschool teachers get in for FREE and their guests get in for a discounted admission fee of $7 + tax. Kids 4 & under get in FREE!
Our experience: My preteen loved this place. It is an escape type game where you figure out puzzles to advance to the next room of the game. The baby was a little scared, with the loud noises and flashing lights in the dark room didn’t go over well with her. So I wasn’t able to help out too much, fortunately we went through with another couple.
This is by no means an exhaustive list of the homeschooling discounts for attractions in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and surrounding areas, but it is a good start. I’ll keep adding to it as we discover new things to do.
In the meantime if you have some suggestions, please add them to the comments below and I’ll update the post so we can share with everyone else.
